Guidelines for the day:

Matches will follow the Optus U9 SSG format 7v7 as close as practical (Don’t take it all too serious, it’s just a fun day. The aim is to let the play flow as much as possible).

• On arrival at the ground coach or manager to complete team sheet at official table adjacent to canteen.

• Please have your team and player ID cards checked by an official located at the canteen inside ground 1 before the start of your first game.

• Teams are to be ready to take the field 5 minutes before their game to ensure the day runs on time.

• All round games are 12 minutes each way, 1 minute half time turn around and 5 minutes between games. (No half time break, straight turn around)

• Game times will run off a siren.

• Games will commence whether teams are ready or not. (Please make every effort to be ready on time).

• Substitution of players is to occur at half time, if a player is injured that player can be replaced during the match.

• Teams that start a game with less than 7 players due to late arrival may include the player/s when instructed by the referee, only when there is a stoppage in the game.

Instructing Referee

We have invited our junior referees to assist with the refereeing duties. This should cover the majority of matches. Each team is to have someone available to act as an instructing referee in the event that one of our junior referees is not available.

Match Balls

Each club is to have a match ball (size 3) available for their game if required.

Playing Fields

All events for the day will be on the No.1 Ground inside the fenced area.

Two fields will be set up running across the ground (east/west) one in each half. The No.1 field will be at the northern end and the No.2 field will be at the southern end.

We ask that spectators watch the matches from outside the playing area only referees and coaches are permitted inside the playing area. This minimises interaction between players and spectators, reduces the change over times between matches and allows everyone a clear view of the action.

Notes:

Due to the small number of entries and the fact we have had graded matches and a Women’s fixture scheduled for the morning we have opted for a later than normal start.

We have selected a draw where each team will play three matches. A four match draw meant that either one round had to be repeated or two teams would have to play back to back matches and the finish times were getting a bit late in the day.

If anyone is interested in a fourth game let us know when you arrive on the day and we can see if we can arrange an extra game at the end of the program.

The annual Wal Robinson Gala Day will be held this Sunday for Under 9 teams.
